# Jain Pav Bhaji

> Pav Bhaji is a snack that needs no introduction. Everyone loves this spicy and tasty bhaaji that is served with buttery paav. Here is Jain pav bhaji recipe which is equally delicious but made without onion, garlic and potato. No one will find out the difference.

## Ingredients

- 2 large raw bananas, boiled, peeled and mashed
- 1½ tablespoons ghee
- 1 medium green capsicum, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- 1½ tablespoons red chilli paste
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 tablespoon pav bhaji masala
- 2 small tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1½ tablespoons butter + for garnish
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves + for garnish
- ¼ cup boiled green peas
- Buttered pavs to serve
- Salad to serve

## Method

1. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add green capsicum and cumin seeds, mix and saute for 2-3 minutes. Add salt and mix well.
2. Add red chilli paste, mix and saute for 1-2 minutes. Add boiled raw bananas and mix till well combined.
3. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and pav bhaji masala, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add &frac12; cup water, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.
4. Add tomatoes, mix and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add butter, coriander leaves, green peas and adjust salt and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
5. Lightly mash the mixture with the back of a spoon. Switch the heat off.
6. Transfer the mixture into a serving bowl. Garnish with butter and coriander leaves.
