Ingredients
500 grams bhajanee chakli flour
1 tbsp white sesame seeds
Salt to taste
2-3 tbsps hot oil
Oil for greasing + for deep frying
Method
Take bhajanee chakli flour in a large parat. Add white sesame seeds and salt. Make a well in the centre and add the hot oil and mix well. Add 1¼ cups water in batches and knead into a semi-soft dough.
Divide the dough into equal portions.
Grease a chakli press with some oil. Put a portion of the dough inside the chakli press till it is ¾ filled. Cover it with the lid.
Press out chaklis on to a plastic sheet.
Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Gently slide in the chaklis a few at a time and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
Allow the chaklis to cool completely. Store in an air tight container and serve as required.
