Prawn Mappas — Interactive video experience

Prawn Mappas is a traditional dish from the Indian state of Kerala, made with prawns in a rich and spicy coconut milk sauce. It is a popular seafood dish that is often enjoyed with steamed rice. The prawns are cooked in a mixture of spices and coconut milk, resulting in a flavorful and delicious dish. When guests come over, count Prawn Mappas as one new dish to cook.   1. Heat coconut oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and once they start to splutter, add ginger, garlic, green chillies and sauté for 30 seconds.
  2. Add onions and sauté till translucent. Add shallots and sauté for 2-3 minutes on medium heat.
  3. Add dried red chillies and mix well. Add prawns and sauté on high heat for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add garam masala powder, turmeric powder, fennel powder, crushed black peppercorns and mix well.
  5. Add fish tamarind pieces, tomato and sauté for a minute.
  6. Add thin coconut milk, curry leaves and allow the mixture to come to a boil.
  7. Add salt, thick coconut milk and mix well. Cook for 2 minutes.
  8. Transfer in a serving bowl, and serve hot with steamed rice.
