Apple Clafoutis Loaf — Interactive video experience

Soft, lightly custardy, and filled with sweet apple goodness, this Apple Clafoutis Loaf is a cosy twist on the classic French dessert. It’s got the comforting texture of a loaf cake with all the creamy, fruity flavours you’d expect from a clafoutis.

  1. Preheat the oven at 180°C.In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla and butter. Add the milk and whisk in the flour, baking powder, cardamom and salt until smooth.
  2. Slice the apples with a mandolin so as to obtain even thin slices of apples. Add the apples to the batter and coat well.
  3. Place the apple only in a loaf tin (lined with baking paper), gently pressing so there is nothing sticking out then pour on the rest of the batter evenly.
  4. Bake for about 50 minutes until golden brown (Check with a pointy knife that the cake is cooked through). Sprinkle with icing sugar and serve with a dollop of cream.
